Between the draconian zoning ordinances, the hostile climate for building permits and the recent Supreme Court ruling criminalizing homelessness, I now consider the US to be a failed state and it’s government to be illegitimate. I'm not a scienctist, nor an economist, not even good at using English as a langurage, but I understand there is nothing can be created out of thin air. How would a country with 750 millitary bases and number one economy in the world in terms of GDP making more money without even producing enough "real" things, but instead have huge group of lawers, investers, and the whole "wall street gangs", thus making money out of money, that's insane.

What did you expect to happen, in the plutocracy that disguises itself as "capitalism" in the West? When 1% of the people have 70% of the wealth, this is what happens. There are billionaires, and trillion dollar companies, who simply buy up ENTIRE blocks on a daily basis. MANY of them remaining empty for years, even decades, because these people don't rely on the RENT to pay their bills. What you need are a simple set of laws, where EVERY homeless person, or family that is inadequately housed, will be gifted to live in ANY of these millions upon millions of homes. And that any SINGLE MAN OR WOMAN, any ONE person, can own no more than THREE houses / properties, and they must not be in the same STATE. Why would you want to own three houses in the same State? So instead of Mr Smith over there, a supremely wealthy man, owning SIXTY houses and appartments in his city (but only residing in ONE), while the two dozen homeless people die on the streets, or the young single mother of three cannot abide her one bedroom apartment any longer, we get EQUALITY of one of the basic requirements of life : a home, for everyone. Not SIXTY times over for a few, and ZERO for many.
